Remember:     The altitude of Jackson is 6200 ft.  The altitude at the site is 6850 ft.  The crash site is about 10,400 ft.
                      Temperatures will likely be in the mid 80s.  Take water.  Free maps from the Forest Service on N. Cache St.
                     
From the Town Square at Broadway and Center Sts.  0.0
1.1 mile E to the end of Broadway
Left on Elk Refuge Rd., past historic Miller House on left, Miller Butte on left, 3.6 miles to Twin Creek Ranch sign.
Left at sign, 1 mile to Curtis Canyon campground turnoff.  Turn right.
1.4 mile past sign for Teton National Forest.
Start up mountain.  1.3 mile to Curtis Canyon campground.  Only place for campground toilets - no washup available.
Keep going up, washboard road, 1.6 mile to Sheep Creek cutoff.  High clearance vehicles recommended, but not in
     inclement weather after this point.
Turn left to Sheep Creek, 1.1 mile to small meadow area where plaque is located on left side of road.
Total time approx. 35 minutes.
